KYC & AML Policy
We verify every player to keep our casino safe, legal and fair for all. Below, we explain the checks we carry out, the documents we could ask you for, and how we follow Canadian anti-money laundering rules.
Understanding why we verify
Know Your Customer, or KYC, means confirming who you are. Anti-money laundering, or AML, means making sure the money moving through our casino is legitimate.
Our service is available only in regions where it's legal, and we follow Canadian rules on money laundering, identity and age. We confirm your identity, and check that your home is in a region we serve, before any first deposit.
Verification protects you too. It stops someone else from using your details, keeps minors out and helps your withdrawals move smoothly once your account is fully checked.
Explaining source of funds
At times we have to find out how the funds held in your account were obtained. This is known as source of funds, and it is a routine part of operating a responsible casino.
We typically ask for this when your deposits are large relative to your profile, when a big withdrawal is waiting, or when your activity shifts suddenly. Useful documents include:
- Recent payslips or an employment letter.
- Bank statements showing the money arriving in your account.
- Tax documents or business accounts.
- Evidence of an inheritance, an investment payout or the sale of a property.
In some cases we may also want a broader picture of your overall wealth. We only ask for what we need, and we handle every document in confidence.
Confirming your identity and age
Creating an account? Type your name exactly the way your ID shows it, then fill in your birth date plus the address where you live. We can often confirm these details online with the help of trusted data sources, which means you won't need to upload anything.
If we cannot confirm your details that way, we will request documents such as:
- Photo identification: a valid passport, a driver's licence or any other government-issued card displaying your photo and date of birth.
- Proof of address: an official letter, utility bill or bank statement issued recently, with your name and current home address printed on it.
- Payment ownership: proof that any bank account, card or e-wallet you pay with is in your name. If you use a card, photograph the front with the middle digits hidden, and never show the security code.
Take clear colour photos showing the whole document, with every corner visible. Send them by email or add them in your account area, whichever suits you. Since every player must be 19 or older, these checks confirm your age before real-money play.
Handling unsuccessful checks
Sometimes a check cannot be completed. This can happen when documents are unclear, details do not match, papers appear altered, or requested documents never arrive.
During an open check, your account is restricted, so deposits, play and withdrawals are paused. You will receive an email from us setting out what is missing and how to put it right.
When a problem cannot be sorted out, we shut the account. Where the law permits, we refund deposits through whichever payment method you used first. As our Account Terms explain, winnings from unverified play may be voided.
Monitoring accounts over time
Once you've signed up, our checks carry on. We monitor account activity and compare it with what we know about each player.
We may run our checks again if your details change, your ID expires or your play changes noticeably. Examples of patterns that lead us to look more closely include:
- Cashing out soon after depositing without much play.
- Several different payment methods used in a short time.
- Payments coming from someone other than the account holder.
- Deposits split into small amounts in an unusual way.
All deposits and withdrawals must go through a payment method that is registered to you. Third-party payments are not accepted.
Screening for politically exposed persons
The term politically exposed person covers anyone in, or formerly in, a prominent public position, such as a senior official, judge or military leader. It also extends to people closely connected to them, for example relatives or business partners.
Belonging to this category doesn't stop you having an account. We will run some extra checks, for example on where your money comes from, and a senior member of our team has to give approval.
Checking sanctions lists
Player names are screened against Canadian and international sanctions lists when an account is opened, and regularly after that.
A confirmed match leads to the account being blocked and to every step the law requires. Players subject to sanctions cannot be accepted in any circumstances.
Keeping records and reporting
We keep identity documents, records of transactions and the outcomes of verification for as long as Canadian law requires. This information is stored securely and can be seen only by staff who need it.
If a transaction seems suspicious, or hits the legal threshold for reporting, it goes to the appropriate Canadian authorities. Sometimes the law forbids us to say that a report was filed, and we always honour that.
