Responsible Gaming
Swift Current Casino is meant to be fun, and we offer simple tools to help it stay that way. Each tool is explained below, together with the rules for changing limits and the places you can turn to for free, confidential help.
Keeping play in your hands
We are a friendly casino at home in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, and we take our part in safer play seriously. Our games should sit comfortably alongside the rest of your life, your budget and your free time.
Gambling must be legal in your region for us to accept you, and we follow Canadian rules covering money laundering, age and identity checks. All the tools below cost nothing, and you can activate most of them from your account settings.
We also keep watch for signs that play could be getting out of hand, such as fast repeated deposits or extremely long sessions. If we see this happening, we'll reach out by email and talk through your options, kindly and in private.
Setting your limits
You set how much you deposit and how much you stake. Choose the limits that work for you:
- Deposit limits set the most you can pay into your account over a period you pick.
- Wager limits restrict the overall sum you are able to bet during the period you pick.
- Stake limits put a maximum on every single bet, so that no one spin or hand costs more than you planned.
When a limit is reached, we stop any more deposits or bets of the same kind until your selected period resets. You can use one limit or all three, and change them at any time.
Using reality checks
Reality checks pop up on your screen during play. Each one tells you how long this session has lasted and how much you have won or lost up to now. You decide how often you see them.
Time alerts work alongside reality checks. Set a session length, and we will let you know the moment you reach it. From the alert, you can carry on, pause or log out with a single tap.
Taking a cooling-off break
Want to step away for a bit? Set a cooling-off pause of any length between 1 day and 6 weeks. Your account stays on hold for the whole period. Deposits and games stay locked until it ends, and no promo emails come your way.
A cooling-off period cannot be cancelled early. When it ends, your account opens again on its own, and your balance stays safe the whole time.
Choosing self-exclusion
Self-exclusion is made for times when you want a longer pause from gambling. After you turn it on, your account remains shut for the entire time you've chosen, and you can't create a new account until it ends.
In addition, your name comes off every marketing list and any active offers are cancelled. To arrange self-exclusion, send us an email; we will write back to confirm as soon as it takes effect. For added protection, consider installing blocking software on your devices.
Closing your account
Prefer to just stop playing with us? Email us and request an account closure. After we finish our usual checks, any balance that can be withdrawn is paid out to you. You'll find the full process in our Account Terms.
Checking you before your first deposit
We confirm your identity and check that you're in a region we serve before any deposit goes through. This keeps minors and people from excluded regions out, and it helps keep your account safe from misuse.
Changing your limits
Cutting a limit takes no time at all. The reduced limit kicks in the instant you press save.
Raising a limit takes longer. A higher limit kicks in after a 24 hour wait, so you have time to be sure about the change. Until then, your current lower limit stays in place. Removing a limit completely counts as an increase and has the same 24 hour wait.
Protecting minors
Holding an account here requires an age of 19 or more. Registration stays incomplete until a date of birth is provided, and identity checks take place before any first deposit is accepted. Should it emerge later that a person under 19 is behind an account, that account is shut immediately.
Our 19+ Policy sets out our age checks in detail and offers practical tips for protecting young people at home.
Checking your habits
A short self-assessment quiz in the safer play section of your account poses a few honest questions about how you play. It only takes a moment, and your responses are kept private.
The quiz is not a diagnosis, but it can help you notice changes early. Some common warning signs include:
- Chasing losses with bigger or extra bets.
- Spending money needed for groceries, bills or rent.
- Hiding play from family or friends.
- Becoming irritable or restless during time away from playing.
- Playing longer than you meant to, again and again.
If any of these sound familiar, one of the tools above or a chat with a support organization can make a real difference.
